Hearing Aids - A Solution to Hearing Loss

Loss of hearing is on the rise. How does it happen and what is a solution? Men and women who operator dozers, cranes and other heavy duty equipment often times suffer from hearing loss. The reason is the loud, constant noise of the engine effects their hearing over a period of time. It could take years before a person realizes that they are having problems with their hearing and then again, only a short period of time.

Heredity can also be a cause of loss of hearing. One gene passed down from one generation to another. If one of your grandparents suffered from a loss of hearing and then your parent suffered from a loss of hearing, then your chances of suffering from a loss of hearing is greater. Also, people who work in manufacturing facilities that have a high noise level can also lose their sense of hearing. It is the consistency and level of the noise that they are hearing that affects their hearing loss. As soon as a person notices the loss of hearing, they should first go to an ear, nose and throat doctor. The doctor must determine the extent of the loss of hearing before anything can be done and a solution be put in place. The most common solution is ear hearing aids. Hearing aids come in many different styles and sizes. Your doctor will be the one to determine what style meets your needs.

Language Course

Speaking the local language goes far in removing prejudices and misconceptions that people may have about the tourists and travelers who visit their countries. It shows a sensitivity and exploration of their culture and endears travelers to the locals in ways that a brash “does anyone speak Rosetta English around here?” will never accomplish. It opens up opportunities for authentic interaction with the locals, shopping in local bazaars and markets, and the possibility of staying with local families and helping their communities. Often, speaking or attempting to speak the local language will even get you a cheaper price on your lodging or market purchases
